Yesterday, I replanted a pineapple plant I started from one we had eaten. I was so impressed that it actually stayed alive. Not only did it thrive, it started 4 new shoots! Now that I have replanted it, we shall see how many days until it dies, er ah I mean how many days until we get new shoots! I have been trying to get another pineapple to grow for pollination but they keep mildewing on me. Are you looking for an easy cultural book to read with your kids? Try "When My Name was Keoko" by Linda Sue Park. It takes place in Korea during World War II and is written from different family members perspectives. Very easy enjoyable read probably for those older than 8.
